Director of Recruitment for a large for profit college.
About Me:
I am a 34 yo Director of Recruitment for a mid sized company in Everett Wa. I enjoy helping sales people overcome the negative connotations associated with being a sales professional. I believe sales is a important and essential function in the economy, and that the professionals in this field should be proud of what they do every day. If you are not I would suggest either changing how you do what it is you do, or that you find someone new to do it for! My blog was created to share helpful insights and practical knowledge that will help every sales professional increase their income without compromising their values. This is not a blog about sneaky tricks and tactics, but instead, a place where I can share how doing things right can positively impact your results and bottom line
Thanks for visiting Sales Management 2.0 I hope you enjoy the site!
I want to start out by thanking everyone that has followed me from my old site on Wordpress to this site. Now that I am re-launching and re-branding my site I felt it was appropriate to introduce myself to everyone again and also fill people in a little bit on what I am trying to accomplish on the new platform I am using and where I see this new site going.
I am a forward thinking professional that is a bit opinionated, and that means that I enjoy writing but not about myself! Still, it is important that you know a bit about me so here I go…
I believe that inside every person is an exciting and dynamic individual that is dying to get out. My mission as a leader is to help transform average people into sales professionals, and develop my organization’s leaders for tomorrow; and this sales and management blog / network is an extension of that mission.
I have had an eclectic but successful career that spans several industries including, but not limited to military service, multi-level marketing, financial services, and proprietary education. I have done B2C and B2B as both an inside and outside sales person. During my career I have worked with hundreds of sales people, some good and some bad. The important thing is I have learned many lessons from all of them and it is my mission to share them here on this site.
My education background includes a BA in Business and Economics from The Evergreen State College, a MBA from the University of Phoenix, and several corporate and military leadership programs. I am currently the Director of Recruitment for a major for profit college in Washington State where I manage the schools marketing and recruitment efforts.
I like to work hard and play harder. I have a wife Kristi, and a three year old daughter Sophia. Together we enjoy running, hiking, snowboarding, sea kayaking, 4-wheeling, camping, cycling, and karate. I also collect comic books and am a video game geek. I Love my Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii! On top of all that I am a voracious reader and I love to debate topics of all types.
Now that you know a bit about me, I hope you will enjoy this site. I will try to make it insightful, honest, and encouraging. I look forward to reading your comments, blogs, forum posts, and e-mail so that I can provide the best service and content possible. It is my goal over time to develop this site into a place where professionals can chat, swap ideas, and seek advice on a number of topics. I look forward to seeing you host your own blog, interacting with others, and starting groups so we can all network and grow together. I would appreciate your comments and suggestions to improve this site, so please feel free to e-mail me any time by leaving a comment on my profile or shooting me an e-mail at bmtrnavsky at msn.com
Back in June of 2008 I was invited to join a small band of very talented sales bloggers with the common interest of elevating the profession and helping others to succeed by not only educating others, but inspiring them as well. At that point, we formed the Sales Bloggers Union. It's almost a year later and I feel so blessed to have come to know a group of guys that are not only some of the most talented sales bloggers on the internet but some of the nicest… Continue
The folks over at MaconRaine are writing a whitepaper about the relationship between the sales and marketing department with respect to measurement, accountability and MOST IMPORTANT – lead generation.
If you could take a few minutes and provide your input, it will help them take the "pulse" of the situation from the perspective of executives, sales people and marketing people.
We'll post the results of the survey here on the Sales Management 2.0 website, a… Continue
“What is Sales Management 2.0?” This is a question I have been asking myself a lot lately and the answer I have come up with is that I am asking the wrong question… I should not be asking what it is; I should be asking what it should be!
Over the next few paragraphs I am going to share some thoughts with you about the sales industry, this site, what I am trying to do and how you can help me… I am hoping you will find this thought provoking and stimulating. If however you are deeply entren… Continue

As part of my continuous effort to put the best possible content in front of my members I am excited to announce a new partnership with Business Expert Webinars. Most of us are use to the free webinar model where you listen to a no cost webinar that gives you some surface level information in exchange for listening to a sales pitch. What makes… Continue
Thank you for the advice, appreciate it. Be sure to find me on the site soon. I believe that this could be a vital source to tap info and in return maybe also add some . Just trying to get everything to an acceptable level here. I only took this position over a few weeks back and have to teach the people my style of managing and also have to get habitually aquanted with the standard protocol here. Hence, I'm working through all the teething problems of applying other ( what I believe to be more productive ) methods, and in my case adapt some new methods. EXCITING TIMES!!!.
See ya guys and galls soon,

Kim,
I agree wholeheartedly that sales is about DOING. It's behavioral. If we do the right things, we're much more likely to get the right results.
