Sales Management 2.0

I have already been reading for a few days, and my suggestion is to start out by discussing the first seven myths of leadership and sharing our thoughts. I will get some thoughts and questions up today or tomorrow so we can get going if that works for everyone. Next week we can start in on the challenges if we are ready...

Thoughts??? Suggestions??? ideas???

I like this idea. I'm in. Maxwell is one of the most sought out speakers on leadership today. I'll buy the book but what about the workbook? Do we want to use the workbook as a guide?

I do not have the workbook, but I may try to get it this weekend. I posted it up there because I found it, and thought some people might want it.

My plan was to go through it and just let us share questions we were asking ourselves and interesting points with the group for discussion. I can see how the workbook would help with that though.

Whatever you want. I've worked with his work books before and they are pretty intense - it's like a whole different book. Maybe stick with your idea and then see where that takes us.

Absolutely concur. The workbooks are really different books. I'm with Rich -- if we want to continue the tour of duty on this one by working into the workbook, we can make that "book 2".

Good plan then. Lets just focus on the book for now and when we finished we can start a discussion on the work book if people want to.

Incidentally, Brian clark is a great friend of mine from Atlanta GA that I invited.

Cool, I just sent him a welcome message a bit ago. :) Would he be intrested in joining us here?

Possibly - you can invite him.

I like the idea of assignments -- sharing 3-4 questions each week in different threads for each of us to address regarding key learnings from the book. I'm ashamed to say that I haven't picked it up yet -- but will order it from Amazon today. So... don't get too far ahead without me! :)

I was planning on talking about the seven myths next week. That is all in the first 22 pages, but I think there is a lot of meat in that section despite it's brevity. Then in the next week we could move on to the challenges.
