Hey everyone! I'm Brad the creator of this group and founder of the Sales Management 2.0 website. I currently work as a Director of Recruitment (Sales and Marketing Director for folks outside the for-profit education industry) for a large for profit college in Everett WA. I created this group to study and discuss the book 360 Degree leadership because I think it is a great book and I think this would be a very interesting and fun way to read and discuss the book with a group of people outside my industry and close circle of friends. I am hoping to learn some new things from all of you.
Please introduce yourself so we can all get to know each other a bit before we start the REAL discussion!
I'm Pete, and I'm a freelance storyteller from Portland. I help organizations craft their messages in compelling ways using new media. As a function of that work, and my background in F500 sales, marketing and PR, I also provide consultation to my clients around integrating sales, marketing, and advertising functions into a compelling communications plan. That involves leveraging my experience as a sales manager, which is a skillset I haven't really polished in a few years. Looking forward to this discussion to start to get my chops back up to speed!
Hello everyone, I'm so excited about joining this group. As the Business Development Director for eCoreXperience, User Experience & Interaction Design specialists, I am interested in the whole next Gen, Web 2.0 business model transformation and exploring how the notion of Leadership is morphing along this evolution.
I'm in the Marketplace Solutions Group for Kaplan University in the Northwest Region. I live in Seattle, but am writing you from Juneau today. I develop relationships between companies and Kaplan University through online training.
I'm friends with Brad and have worked with him and known him for about 5 1/2 years now. He's a very good leader and salesman and I've heard Maxwell is a great author. I'm excited to learn from them as well as you all!
Hi everyone! I'm Rich Vosler. I'm a Life Coach and Sales Trainer. I came out of the mortgage mess in mid 2006 and have been on my own since. I do some product development, blogging, article writing, but mostly coaching right now. I've also done some work with network marketing companies. I love what I do and am looking forward to the discussion of this book.
I have read 360 Degree Leadership and I am rereading it again. It is one of those books that serve as an affirmation of what one already knows.
I am looking forward to joining this discussion. I have given this book as gifts to potential leaders.
I currently work as a Director of Human Resources in a non-profit organization. I am also an executive & career coach. You can see more about me at www.ibelievethat.com.
Great to have you here. This group kind of fell apart right as it was getting going a couple of months ago. I am going to try to re-kick start this group. I'll be blogging about it this week and will also send an e-mail to all the other members of the group to re-start this.
There is going to be activity here even if it just Rich and I because I think there is a lot of value in REALLY reading this book and getting the most out of it.
I have read it, but I find going through it methodically allows me to gain a deeper understanding and to internalise new concepts.
I am Matt, and I am the Director of Sales for Vendmore Systems, LLC. Vendmore systems is a Technology and Intellectual Property company, which specializes in the design, development and distribution of high sales volume, networked, computerized vending equipment branded QuickStore24 . We are part of Walker Digital, which started Priceline.com, as well as holds numerous patents in gaming, like the "Wheel of Fortune" Slot machines you see in Casinos.
Launching a new product is always an exciting, and unbelievably rewarding experience. I have done it before with Companies like OpenTable.com and Rewards Network. As many of you know, the pressure for performance is put on those of us "in the middle", and it is that performance on which a successful launch, as well as the scale depends.
The concept of Leadership in an organization as is discussed in this book is something that is of primary importance in any organization, let alone in my application, where we are building infrastructure and cross functional teams, all while scaling this venture to have a National Presence.
I look forward to lively discussion, and and while I have had the opportunity to read other books by Maxwell, I have not had the pleasure of reading this one cover to cover. I have only read summaries and excerpts, so I just ordered the book from Amazon!!!
Welcome to the Group Matt... I am looking forward to chatting with you about this book. It is a fantastic read regardless of your level of leadership experience.
