Has Call Reluctance Been Outsourced?

I was reading the well written blogs about overcoming objections and I realized that I have a question: With all of the technology and communications available, is call reluctance still an issue? A long time ago I remember hearing the notion of rejection avoidance linked to call reluctance. I have long since lost the citation but I remember the examples of rejection that were used. There were three forms of rejection: Frequency rejection, duration rejection and intensity rejection. Frequenc… Continue

Hi Allison,
Your company caught my attention because of the work I did on the emergency communications system for Alaska. One of the issues that we dealt with routinely was border security and coordination between US and Canadian customs and law enforcement folks.

What kind of issues does your company address regarding security issues with product shipments when you facilitate customs processing?

Hello Ken, thanks for your comments. As for me, I have been in this industry now for 20 years. I started back before all this great technology we have today, when we used to type our Customs entries to present to Customs when the goods arrived. I have done just about all positions and came in to sales only 10 years ago, I continue to take the necesasry courses to keep up my designation and always enjoy learning new aspects of Customs regulations and how to navigate them successfully for Businesses looking to expand their markets in Canada. I work mainly with US Companies looking for cost effective solutions for selling thier products in Canada.

Good morning Martice,
I have been a consultant for something over 35 years now, so I have always been in sales. There are a couple of things that attracted me to this community.

One is the opportunity to learn from people who do sales management as their profession. Alaska, because it is so oriented toward minerals extraction, does not have the kind of sales forces that are common in the lower 48. Because our company's work is typically on the operations side of a business I seldom get to interact with marketing and sales folks directly.

The second reason is that I have a book coming out this year. One of the marketing tools we are exploring is the use of a ning site. This is my first opportunity to be involved in one of these communities. It is very interesting to see how the dynamics of this community develop.

I hope that whatever comments I make are appropriate. I'm here to learn

Happy Wednesday!

Ken,

It is possibly not the correct photo for a sales blog however it was just something to put against the post "Get People to do what you want".
